Edit the default name and profile picture of guest users in Microsoft Teams

Collaboration in Microsoft Teams is not restricted to the members of your organization, the platform allows you to reach users from other organizations and also add them to your existing teams as guests.

If guest access is enabled in your tenant, you will be able to add members to teams that don’t belong to the organization however the name and the profile picture added to those users by default is not always the best to identify them.

Add a third-party cloud storage provider to Microsoft Teams

When using Microsoft Teams all your files get stored in a SharePoint site, if you or other team members have files stored in other cloud storage providers you will be able to bring them to the Teams context in just a few clicks.

Using the add cloud storage feature, allows everyone with permissions to the original folder to access to the files from a team channel.

How to show a SharePoint page in Microsoft Teams without the command bar

With a recent update, SharePoint pages started to show the command bar when displayed inside Microsoft Teams allowing the user to quickly modify the page from the Teams context without the need to open the browser.

While this feature was thought to increase the productivity, it can be a bit annoying in scenarios where you simply want the user to get focused on the content.

How to schedule Out of Office and automatic replies using Microsoft Teams

Set up a message to let others know you’re on holiday or not available to reply, was a feature that until recently was only available through Outlook being then propagated to other applications like Microsoft Teams.

How to define compact mode in Microsoft Teams to view more chat messages on the screen

Microsoft Teams has a new feature that allows you to modify the chat density to display up to 50% more chat messages on the screen.

This feature is available through a new Compact mode in the personal user settings; however it only gets applied to chats and has no impact on teams channels.

How to use Microsoft Teams Walkie Talkie on iOS and Android

Released originally with frontline workers in mind, Microsoft Teams Walkie Talkie, a push-to-talk application is now available to all users on iOS and Android devices.

From this application is possible to send voice messages to team channels with the push of a button. This feature comes in handy for scenarios where users need to communicate with others in Microsoft Teams, but for some reason can’t type.
