How to use special effects in Microsoft Teams meetings

Back in 2019 Microsoft announced a feature that allows meeting attendees to customize their background from a list of pre-selected images, something that just a few years ago was only possible with the use of green screens and special effects.

Time has passed by and this feature is not yet globally available (the release is scheduled to April 2020), but while waiting for it you can use third party solutions to customize the webcam video and have some fun in your meetings.

Using the Snap Camera for desktop allows you to customize the video input you use in Microsoft Teams, this application creates a virtual webcam on your computer and allows you to customize the background on your video and allows you to apply filters on top of your face.

How to remove a faulty tab from a channel

Every now and then while removing a tab from a channel I get an error, and if the tab is an SPFx app I no longer can remove it using the UI.

This happens because the removal process gets interrupted, the reference to the tab in the Hosted Apps Config list on SharePoint gets deleted but the tab remains on Microsoft Teams.

Script editor for Microsoft Teams

The script editor web part was kind of a super hero in the classic SharePoint, with a few clicks it allowed content creators to build web parts and to embedded content from the web.

This awesome web part is back and ready to spread the magic as an app in Microsoft Teams.

The modern script editor app is not provided officially by Microsoft, it was developed by Mikael Svenson and is available as an open source project part of the PnP initiative.

How to run multiple instances of Microsoft Teams using Microsoft Edge

With the exponential growth of Microsoft Teams also came the problem to manage accounts in multiple tenants, if you belong to more than one organization you may find yourself signing in and signing out multiple times or using multiple browsers to keep up with everything being said in all environments.

How to easily identify Teams site collections

When a new Team is created there are a few resources created along with it, one of them is an Office group and his SharePoint site collection where all the team documents are stored.

With the self-service creation of Teams enabled by default managing SharePoint site collections will certainly be harder over the time but as an administrator you can change the default settings to easily identify all the sites belonging to a team.
