How to Resolve the ‘Device Administration is Disabled. Contact Your Admin’ Error on Android MTRs

If you encounter the error message ‘Device administration is disabled. Contact your Admin’ on Android Microsoft Teams Rooms, which prevents you from signing in and using the device, rest assured you are not alone. In this article, I will guide you, as an Administrator, on how to resolve this issue and register your device with the organization.

Android-based devices utilized by Teams are administered through Intune using the Android Device Administrator (DA) management approach. Device enrollment is mandatory for customers using the Android Device Administrator system.

  1. Sing in to the Microsoft Intune Admin Center
  2. On the vertical menu click on Devices and then Enrollment

  3. At the top click on the Android tab
  4. In the Android device administrator click on Personal and corporate-owned devices with device administrator privileges

  5. Check the option Use device administrator to manage devices. By enabling this feature, you grant Microsoft permission to send both user and device information to Google

  6. Click OK to apply the changes
