What’s new for Microsoft Viva – March 2024

March was a bustling period for the Microsoft Viva suite, marked by a series of updates and announcements that promise to enhance the experience for both administrators and end users.

In March, Microsoft Viva introduced several updates, particularly for Viva Connections, aimed at improving the experience for both administrators and users. Additionally, Viva Engage and Viva Learning received updates that shouldn’t be missed. We’ll cover these changes and how they can benefit your interaction with the Viva suite.

The Copilot academy provides structured educational content in Viva Learning to help users learn about, discover, and use Copilot for Microsoft 365 quickly and effectively. The academy will be available to users who meet two criteria and will be enabled by default. Admins can disable the academy. The rollout will begin early April 2024 and expect to complete by early April 2024. No action is needed to prepare for this rollout.

Microsoft Viva Pulse Admin Led Trial is now available in the Microsoft Admin Center. Admin trials offer 25 users in an organization access to Viva Pulse for 30 days. The trial will be live worldwide in mid-March 2024. To activate the trial, the Microsoft 365 Global Admin or the Billing Admin can assign licenses and inform trial users to access Viva Pulse through Microsoft Teams or the web browser. Microsoft Viva: Answers Intelligent Importer (Premium)

Microsoft Viva’s Answers Intelligent Importer (Premium) allows the generation of structured Q&A pairs from existing unstructured documentation and posting them into premium communities and Answers for easy retrieval and reuse of knowledge. The feature will be available within Communities for Premium users on Viva Engage and will soon be available on the Answers page. Viva Engage admins will be able to control who can see and use this feature through their admin settings. The feature supports Microsoft Word documents (.docx), PDFs, and .txt files stored on the user’s local device. Smaller documents tend to provide better results (2-10 pages), and Q&A pairs generated will be limited to 20 on each upload action.

Admins can define supported languages in the Available languages setting in the Viva Learning admin page, while users can personalize Viva Learning by choosing their preferred language in the Viva Learning app settings. After rollout, Viva Learning will only reflect the user Language setting in Viva Learning, and changing the language in Microsoft Teams or a browser will not affect the language setting for Viva Learning.
