May has been a busy month for the Microsoft Employee Experience Suite, with new features added to make our work life easier. This time, we’re focusing on the latest updates that link Copilot and Copilot Dashboards with Viva Insights, streamlining how we access and use workplace analytics.

Viva Insights: Attribute clones to launch soon in Viva Insights

Microsoft Viva is launching ‘attribute clones’ in Viva Insights in early May 2024, providing analysts enhanced control over attribute data for tailored analysis. This feature allows cloning of attributes within partitions for new data groupings, without altering original admin-uploaded columns. Organizations should assess the impact. Roadmap ID: 167345.
View only mode in Viva Engage
Viva Engage
Engage admins will have the ability to change users’ access to view only mode. In view only mode, users can access and view content in Engage, but cannot comment, react, or create new posts.

Regional announcements for frontline workers in Viva Connections
Viva Connections
Microsoft Viva introduces regional announcements for frontline workers, allowing managers to send targeted messages based on location, job code, and department. Rollout begins early May 2024 and ends early June 2024. Organizations should set up Hierarchy and DTAS on Teams and enable Regional filtering in Viva Connections.
Viva Insights – Meeting cost and quality insights
Viva Insights
Leaders will have a new report showing how their team invests time in meetings and opportunities to review meetings to reclaim time. Individuals will have improved meeting review insights in the Viva Insights app and new in-line nudges in Outlook to encourage them to be thoughtful when creating new high-cost meetings.

Microsoft Viva: Copilot assisted hours update in Microsoft Copilot dashboard

Microsoft Viva is updating the Copilot Dashboard to provide a detailed breakdown of Copilot assisted hours for Viva or Viva Insights subscribers. The update, which requires no admin action, will start rolling out in early May 2024 and complete by mid-May 2024. Users should be informed of this change.
Meeting cost and quality insights will be available in Viva Insights

Microsoft Viva Insights is introducing a new meeting cost and quality report and improved features for managing meeting time. These will roll out from mid-May to early June 2024 for users with a Viva Insights premium license. Admins can manage feature access using VFAM.
Viva Engage – Topic Subscription notification
Viva Engage
This feature allows users to subscribe to notifications for Viva Engage topics they follow. Users would receive a Teams and Engage bell notification whenever a new post is tagged with a topic they are subscribed to or the topic is added to an existing post.

Microsoft Viva: Mute user for network
Viva Engage
With this feature, Engage admins can remove specific users’ posts from the Engage home feed, storylines feed, and all email digests. Selected users are not notified about this change.Engage admins may find this feature helps to moderate the visibility of content in the network. Mute user for network is part of a suite of moderation features in Engage, including view-only mode, close conversations, and more.

Enhanced capabilities for spotlight in Viva Connections!
Viva Connections
Viva Connections is enhancing spotlight capabilities, providing more control over content display with 11 slots. Pinned items will be shown first, followed by dynamic SharePoint news. The desktop experience will blend prioritized content with news updates. Rollouts begin mid-May 2024, with new customization settings introduced. Preparation involves generating news and selecting content sources for spotlight.

Viva Connections now available on the web
Viva Connections
Viva Connections is now available on the web with the same functionalities as in Teams. It will start rolling out mid-May 2024 for Targeted Release and will be generally available by mid-June 2024. No action is needed to use it on the web.
Microsoft Copilot Dashboard in Viva Insights Product Updates

Adding trendlines to show metric movements over past 6-month time periods, before vs after Copilot comparisons, and providing the option to view an estimated dollar value for the existing Copilot assisted hours metric.
Viva Learning – Manage Graph providers in Admin tab

This feature will enable admins to manage graph providers in Admin tab such as adding permission, deleting providers.

Dashboard in Viva Insights to become available with Copilot for Microsoft 365
Viva Insights
In the coming months, the Microsoft Copilot Dashboard will become available to all Copilot for Microsoft 365 customers at no additional cost and will not require a Viva or Viva Insights license. Users will be able to access the dashboard in the Viva Insights app in Microsoft Teams or the web app.
Viva Learning – Use the Egress API to access all “My Learning” records

The Egress API can be used by learners to view their My Learning records and corresponding course details.

Viva Pulse – Integration into Viva Glint Dashboard
Viva Pulse
Enable managers and leaders to gather additional information and check in on team progress after an org-wide Glint survey.
By leveraging a Pulse survey that recommends questions based on the top strengths and opportunities identified in the org-wide Glint survey, managers and leaders can gather a timely understanding of the team’s progress to-date in addressing key focus areas, make mid-point adjustments if needed, and maintain momentum in their efforts to improve engagement and employee experience.

Admin will be able to edit learning paths metadata and content. Latest updates will be shown to learner after the LP is edited.

Viva Engage Premium: New Benchmarks in Analytics
Viva Engage
Coming soon in Viva Engage Premium: We will add a new 1-2 Benchmarks feature to the Analytics dashboard to show how your metrics perform in comparison to other customers that use Viva Engage. These benchmarks will be found on two new cards: Network activity and Audience activity.
Viva Engage change log for leaders and audiences identified
Viva Engage
Admins and corporate communicators will be able to see any leaders who were added or removed in Viva Engage, as well as any audiences and removed from a leader in Viva Engage.

Add Viva Pulse card to Viva Connections dashboard
Viva Connections
Licensed Microsoft Viva Pulse users will soon be able to access Viva Pulse directly from the Viva Connections dashboard. Admins need to add a Viva Pulse card to the dashboard. Rollout starts early June 2024, with full availability by late June 2024. No admin action required before rollout.
The Microsoft Copilot Dashboard in Viva Insights will become available with Copilot for Microsoft 365
Viva Insights
The Microsoft Copilot Dashboard will be available to all Copilot for Microsoft 365 customers without extra cost or a Viva Insights license. It will be accessible via the Viva Insights app in Teams or the web app, with advanced features requiring a Viva Insights license. Rollout begins in July 2024. Microsoft 365 admins can manage user access, and organizations with less than 10 licenses will have limited dashboard views.
Onedrive Files Card on Viva Connections dashboard

The new Microsoft Viva feature allows organizations to add a OneDrive Files Card to the Viva Connections dashboard, showing recently accessed, shared, or favorite files. It will roll out in May 2024 and requires no action for setup.

Viva Engage: Changes to iOS app minimum support
Viva Engage
Starting June 3, 2024, Microsoft Viva Engage will no longer support the app on iOS devices with iOS 15 or earlier. Users must have iOS 16 or later to receive new updates, although the app will still function on older versions without new updates. No admin action is required before the rollout.
Official Communities Discovery

Official Communities are discoverable in the Communities Discovery page. Under Recommended Communities, there is an Official Communities section which highlights the communities that have been verified by the network admins.

Import navigational links from SharePoint into Resources in Viva Connections

Microsoft Viva: Connections news notifications on desktop and web
Viva Connections
Microsoft Viva Connections news notifications will be available on Teams desktop and web, mirroring the functionality on Teams mobile. Users can adjust notification settings at the app and individual levels. The rollout begins early June 2024, with no admin action required. Viva Amplify: New Microsoft Copilot Deployment Kit

The message details the inclusion of a new Microsoft Copilot Deployment Kit in Microsoft Viva Amplify, designed to aid in change management and promote AI and Copilot usage. It will be available to licensed Viva Suite and C&C customers, with a rollout starting late May 2024. Users with access to Viva Amplify can utilize the pre-built campaign, and no admin action is required before the rollout. Organizations are advised to inform relevant teams and update documentation.
