How to show a SharePoint page in Microsoft Teams without the command bar

With a recent update, SharePoint pages started to show the command bar when displayed inside Microsoft Teams allowing the user to quickly modify the page from the Teams context without the need to open the browser.

While this feature was thought to increase the productivity, it can be a bit annoying in scenarios where you simply want the user to get focused on the content.

How to schedule Out of Office and automatic replies using Microsoft Teams

Set up a message to let others know you’re on holiday or not available to reply, was a feature that until recently was only available through Outlook being then propagated to other applications like Microsoft Teams.

If you spend most of your day working on Microsoft Teams, it makes sense to enable your Out of Office and automatic replies directly from the application before wrapping everything and leaving on a well-deserved vacation.

How to define compact mode in Microsoft Teams to view more chat messages on the screen

Microsoft Teams has a new feature that allows you to modify the chat density to display up to 50% more chat messages on the screen.

This feature is available through a new Compact mode in the personal user settings; however it only gets applied to chats and has no impact on teams channels.

How to quote a team message in Microsoft Teams

For years users asked Microsoft to include a simple way to directly reply to a message including the original quote in the reply.

This feature was introduced this year and is now available directly from the context menu in each message, however it was not included to thread messages in team chats.

How to change the default application to open Office files from Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Office files hosted in Microsoft Teams by default open inside the application using the web version of the associated Office application. Once the file is open in Microsoft Teams you have the option to open it in the desktop application, but it requires a few extra clicks and a few seconds waiting for it to open again.

In this article you will learn how to change the default version of Office used by Word, Excel and PowerPoint files stored in Microsoft Teams, making it open inside Teams, in the browser or in the Desktop application.

How to get started with Microsoft Loop components in Microsoft Teams

Announced in the fall edition of Microsoft Ignite this year, Microsoft Loop is the a new app that allows users to collaborate and work simultaneously in real time in the same canvas with portable components that move freely and stay in sync.

Microsoft Loop as an application is not yet available but if your organization allows you to use the Preview version of Microsoft Teams you will be able to start using them today experiencing the most advanced collaboration feature available in Microsoft 365.

Clippy is back to Microsoft Teams – Learn how to use it

Clippy the infamous Office assistant released by Microsoft with Office 97 was misunderstood by users that found it more annoying than useful. Despite have been fired with the release of Office XP, Clippy became one of the mascots of Microsoft returning every now and then for the joy of all the users who loved it back in the day.

Now he is back for good in Microsoft Teams and ready to provide a lot of fun moments… at least for those who were using computers in between 1997 and 2001. 👴👵
